Expecting parents can look forward to saving time on antenatal scanning procedures while being able to retain the ultrasound images in their mobile devices.

Samsung recently unveiled its UGEO WS80 ultrasound machines during an event held by by the homegrown healthcare solution provider LAC Medical Sdn Bhd.

This marks the second collaboration between LAC Medical and Samsung.

LAC Medical is an authorised distributor for Samsung Electronics medical equipment. Currently, the company also supplies digital radiography equipment.

LAC Medical director YP Liew said Samsung’s UGEO range had received a positive response from the market even prior to its official launch.

Four were sold even before the official launch.

“The Samsung UGEO WS80 will set a new standard in ultrasound imaging by delivering faster and safer diagnostic procedures at the same time delivering unparalleled user experience via mobile connectivity.

“It generate images faster and has superior image quality to improve diagnostics.

“We provide training on how to use the ultrasound and we also optimise the images for doctors,” he said.

“Our long-term plan is to be the number one ultrasound supplier by 2015,” he added.

The new UGEO WS80 ultrasound is designed to provide diagnostic accuracy with ease of use and functions to streamline users’ workflow, thus improving productivity.

It also gives expecting mothers a chance to catch a glimpse of their babies like never before.

He said Samsung is integrating the machines with other products such as smartphones to enhance user experiences.
